Helpers Barking for Treats
Dani Macaluso

As our area is faced with ongoing changes due to a growing pandemic, we are bringing stories of people doing good in the community during a time of uncertainty.

Help us look for the helpers!

Barking Good Treats

A young helper has been doing a lot of baking during the pandemic.

Luccia Macaluso, 9, from Santa Barbara has been baking treats for both humans and animals during the pandemic.

Her company is called Barking Good Treats.

Luccia started selling them in her neighborhood and she's donated the money she earned to a local organization called CALM.

CALM is a local program that helps kids who have been abused and works on preventing child abuse by helping parents and children in the Santa Barbara community.

"I was very proud of myself. then i decided to donate it to CALM to help other families. It was very nice to donate and it made me feel happy too," said Luccia.

Luccia has raised more than $600 from her treats.
