Weekend college round up: Cal Poly football holds off upset-minded Central Washington
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) -
NCAA Football: Cal Poly 24, Central Washington 17: Ray Hall finished with a game high 125 yards and his first two collegiate touchdown receptions and Fidel Pitts caught a third from quarterback Anthony Grigsby, Jr., as the Cal Poly football program prevailed at home for the second time in as many weeks with a 24-17 victory against Division II Central Washington.
Grigsby closed with 204 passing yards for Cal Poly (2-0), which trailed Central Washington (0-1) after the first quarter, 7-0, before scoring 24 unanswered points.

Junior College Football: Bakersfield 28, Hancock 14: Tyson Scott rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs loss to the Roadrunners. Hancock is 1-1.
Pasadena 54, SBCC 21: Eli Gebbie had a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown for SBCC who fell to 0-2. Brooks Trimmer and Tua Rojas each threw for a touchdown pass in the Vaqueros loss on the road.
Ventura 33, Fullerton 20: LaRevious Woods rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns, including a 59-yard breakaway score in the third quarter, as the Pirate football team got back on track with a solid 33-20 victory at No. 9-ranked Fullerton Saturday. Woods' long touchdown restored a 16-point advantage after the hosts had pulled within three late in the first half, helping the Ventura improve to 1-1. (Courtesy of Ventura College Athletics).
NCAA Women's Volleyball: UCSB 3, Utah State 1: Courtni Youngblood had 20 digs to finish off the Gaucho Invitational with a four set win. UCSB went 1-1 in the tourney and they are 4-1 overall.

NCAA Women's Soccer: UCSB 3, North Dakota State 3: For the third consecutive match, the UC Santa Barbara Women's Soccer team had to settle for a draw. The Gauchos scored on goals from Olivia Howard and Delilah Vega-Aguilar to take a two-goal lead, but North Dakota State scored three unanswered goals over the next 33 minutes to take the lead. The Gauchos showed grit by scoring their third goal of the game in the 85th minute. Ava Jarolimek would level the game. A corner kick was awarded to UC Santa Barbara and Jarolimek stepped over the ball. A perfect shot beat the goalkeeper to the back post and scored off the corner kick. (UCSB Athletics).
NCAA Men's Water Polo: #3 Stanford 24, #13 UCSB 13: Freshman Luigi Canepa scored a team-high 5 goals for the Gauchos in the loss. UCSB only trailed 11-9 at the half. The Gauchos had their 4-game win streak snapped. They are 9-4 on the season.
