Minuteman III launches from Vandenberg AFB

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE - An unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base early Wednesday morning.

The missile launched successfully around 12:03 a.m.

According to the Air Force Global strike command, the ICBM test launches "demonstrate that the U.S. nuclear enterprise is safe, secure, effective and ready to defend the United States and its allies."
