Oxnard Police Make Arrests in Rash of Violent Crimes
Oxnard Police arrested 37-year-old Angel Hernandez, Sergio Cupa, 31 years old, and David Mosqueda, 45 years old, in response to a rash of violent crimes over the past several weeks. All three suspects are Oxnard residents.
Officers conducted directed patrols in several neighborhoods in east Oxnard on November 27. Cupa was among several adult men that were contacted by police in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue. Cupa had previously been served with the “Colonia Chiques” civil gang injunction and was found in possession of property believed to be stolen.
Mosqueda, a Post-Release Offender (PRO), was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and a PRO hold.
Officers also made contact with Hernandez who was talking with Cupa and Mosqueda as he sat in his pickup truck. Hernandez was later found to be carrying a loaded .40 caliber handgun and arrested. The handgun was later discovered to be stolen during a burglary in the city of Santa Paula.
