OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) Shoppers at The Collection at Riverpark in Oxnard stopped to look at a community altar in honor of Dia De Los Muertos.

Part of the altar honored late Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez,73, who was fatally struck by a truck while crossing the street near Heritage Square in Aug. 2023.

The Dia De Los Muertos Altar is located near the Cheesecake Factory.

People have placed, food, drinks, and even a basketball next to photos of their loved ones.

They symbolize some of their favorite things.
