Resident suffers burn injuries after house fire in Atascadero

Atascadero Fire Department

ATASCADERO, Calif. (KEYT) – One person suffered burn injuries after a house fire in Atascadero at 4890 Rosario Avenue just before 2:00 a.m. Sunday, according to the Atascadero Fire Department.

Atascadero Fire crews noticed smoke coming from the front and side of the single story home before Atascadero Police found a resident in the bedroom, according to the AFD.

APD officers helped the resident from the home and started medical care before paramedics took the person to Twin Cities Community Hospital for further treatment.

AFD fire crews then put out the fire to just the bedroom and prevented further spread into the rest of the home.

A second resident did not require hospital transport after evaluation on scene by both AFD and San Luis Ambulance personnel.

AFD crews stayed on scene of the fire for two hours for further inspection and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
