Friends and family pay respects for pilot killed in Orcutt plane crash

ORCUTT, Calif. - The pilot of a small airplane was killed when the plane crashed onto an elementary school campus Wednesday.
Thursday afternoon family members of the pilot, who has been identified as 38-year-old Tigran Garabedyan, came to pay their respects at the crash site.
White roses in a glass vase, a red rose and a candle were placed in front of Ralph Dunlap Elementary School where the plane crashed near the playground area.
In addition to friends and family members, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies were on site Thursday. The department said crews had been in the mop-up stage since early in the morning.
"We're just here cleaning up the aftermath from the tragic plane crash that happened yesterday here at the school," said Lt. Brian Thielst. "It's going good, tomorrow we'll be cleaning up, washing everything, and trying to get the school back to normal."
Cleanup of the crash site is expected to be completed by Friday.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
