Goleta to host first ever digital Community State of the City

GOLETA, Calif. -- The City of Goleta will host its first ever Community State of the City on Thursday.

The event is to bring together community members after a difficult year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual event will include a State of the City speech from Mayor Paula Perotte, important financial update from City Manager Michelle Greene, messages from Councilmembers, local entertainment and a Q&A with city staff.

The event will feature entertainment from local community members including:

  • Ellwood School 6th Graders doing the Pledge of Allegiance
  • 5th Grade Hollister School Student Kaia Drayton reading an excerpt from “The Hill We Climb” by Amanda Gorman
  • Dos Pueblos High School Theatre Company Junior Kaitlyn Diffenderfer performing “I Guess I’ll Miss the Man” from the school’s spring musical “Pippin”
  • 2021 Junior Spirit of Fiesta Savannah Hoover from Zermeno Dance Academy in Old Town Goleta performing Bahia de Cadiz
  • Music group Super Bitchin’ performing at M Special Brewery in Goleta
