County Elections office hours extended due to high interest in voting

The clock is ticking for Santa Barbara County residents planning on voting in the November election.

The Santa Barbara County Elections Office saw many people come in to vote, register to vote and drop off the mail-in ballots Friday.

The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 24. To make it easier for people, all 3 elections offices will be open this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Monday, the offices will open until 8 p.m.

“We’ve seen an unprecedented interest in this election. We’ve sent out 145,000 vote by mail ballots which is way more than we’ve ever sent out before. And we already have 22,000 voted ballots at this time,” said Joe Holland, the Santa Barbara County Registrar of Voters.
