Timothy Hensley Sentenced For Repeated Abuse of Girl He Knew Through Family

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Timothy Wade Hensley of Ventura was sentenced to twelve years in state prison for the continuous sexual abuse of a girl he knew through family.

Hensley was convicted by a Ventura County jury on one felony count of continuous sexual abuse as well as the special allegations that he took advantage of a position of trust and that the survivor was particularly vulnerable shared the Ventura County District Attorney's Office in a press release Monday.

According to the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, between 2016 and 2021, Hensley sexually assault the child at a home in Los Angeles County and then at a home they shared in Thousand Oaks.

The sexual assault survivor was between the ages of nine or ten when the abuse began and they reported Hensley's crimes to a friend in 2023 noted the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.

"The victim and her family showed tremendous courage in coming forward and participating in this
process," explained Deputy District Attorney Julia McAndrew who prosecuted the case. "Crimes against children are unacceptable, and we will continue to work to hold those who commit these offenses accountable. We hope that today's outcome brings the victim a measure of justice and allows her to move forward with the support and safety that she deserves."
