SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A sinkhole opened up along a residential street in Santa Barbara Monday morning. Now work is underway to fix a broken water main.

A problem was first reported around 4 a.m. about a possible sinkhole on the 800 block of Olive Street. Police responded and found a car "sinking" into the street.

The vehicle owner says her dog was the first one to notice. She tells us it was barking and then a police officer knocked on the door to alert her about her car. A tow truck pulled the vehicle from the hole. The car had no signs of major damaged, but the carpets were a little wet.
