NTSB releases initial report from fatal Camarillo plane crash

The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report for a plane crash that killed two people on August 7 in Camarillo.

The report says “aerodynamic stall” is the reason the Wheeler Express 2000 Plane couldn’t land.

Experts say aerodynamic stall can cause the pilot to unintentionally lose control of the aircraft.

The report calls the make and model of the plane an experimental plane… And says it was built by an amateur.

The NTSB said the plane crashed about 750 feet (0.23 km) short of the runway, and left a debris field of 130 feet (ca. 40 m).

The Aug. 7 crash killed pilot John Wells, 60, and his wife, Tara Wells, 56 from Salt Lake City.
