House fire injures woman
A house fire in Santa Barbara was stopped by firefighters before it could spread beyond the kitchen.
It broke out about 3 p.m. on the 900 block of Indio Muerto St. near Milpas.
One woman at the scene was treated for smoke inhalation.
At the scene Battalion Chief Robert Mercado said, “they were able to extinguish the fire in about ten minutes. One victim that was out of the structure and appeared to have some signs of smoke inhalation.”
The house was sandwiched in between businesses and storage yards. Several Santa Barbara City fire engines were called in to make sure the flames did not spread.
The cause is under investigation.
