The Romeros return to the Lobero Theater
The Romeros Guitar Quartet has wowed audiences and won rave reviews worldwide, and now they’re returning to the Lobero Theater, where they got their start 55 years ago.
The Romeros first arrived in Santa Barbara in 1957 from Spain, and it was at the Lobero Theater where their guitar quartet was born. They have performedbefore popes and at the White House, and with musicians from around the world. But this Sunday will be their most special performance yet.
The Romeros celebrate the 100th anniversary of their father, Celedonio Romero, who first founded this group. Shirin Rajaee spoke withbrothers Pepe and Celine about their upcoming event. The concert will be filled with Spanish music, flamenco and many of the original pieces from their first concert.
It’s happening this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Lobero.
