Direct Relief Packs Personal Care Bags for the Needy
About 3000 bags loaded with personal care products have been prepared by volunteers at the headquarters for Direct Relief International in Goleta.The one day project brought in help that included employees from local companies and local high school students. Each bag had items such as sunscreen, lotions, bandages, toothbrushes and other care items that had a value of “over $50 per bag” said Direct Relief International CEO Thomas Tighe. He said they hold this bagging day twice a year, and the focus is the local communties.The products will now be sent out to organizations that serve the needy in Santa Barbara County including the homeless, those who are temporarily in shelters, and low income residents.
