Local Non-Profit Using Technology To Help Disaster Victims
The largest non-profit in the Tri-Counties has a new tool to help disaster aid reach the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Direct Relief International has partnered with Palantir, a tech company based out of Palo Alto.
Palantir has offered its services to D.R.I free of charge. Its technology compiles a vast amount of data and directs resources where they are needed the most. The technology works even when the flow of information gets interrupted. At the height of the storm, an estimated 60 million people were affected. This new technology helps identify the people and communities that are most at risk.
