ShelterBox USA launches new Adventurers Program at Yosemite National Park

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – ShelterBox USA has volunteers from across the country reaching new heights.

"Called the ShelterBox Adventurers and really it’s about inspiring volunteers to get involved to make a difference The new adventurers program is meant to raises funds for the organization ," said president Kerri Murray President of ShelterBox USA.

The program kicked off with a trip to Yosemite.

"And we had about a dozen adventures and they were submitting the northern tome of Yosemite, including somebody 11,000 foot Munt Hoffman," said Murray.

And they range from teenagers to 70 year olds ... very fit over 70 year olds ... and they talk in their communities ... really spread the word about what ShelterBox is and does," said communications director Jeremy Jacobs of ShelterBox USA.

One of the youngest participants in the Yosemite Trek is just 13 years old who hiked with her family.

"It was three generations of women from one family from Wisconsin and so they enjoy hiking together and they said this would be a good cost to do it for," said Jacobs.

Those funds raised will help ShelterBox USA restock its global warehouses as part of the organization’s "Stock the Box" campaign.

"Each of these folks who went on the adventurers this week the track and Yosemite are each raising at least $5,000 each for stock the box it’s so inspiring," said Murray.
