North Broadway boom in Santa Maria
Santa Maria is seeing a business renaissance on its north end of town where change is taking place on North Broadway with new businesses moving in.
The vehicle traffic is already there with the easy access to Highway 101, north and southbound.
It makes sense North Broadway in Santa Maria is also seeing change in its landscape.

“This end of town has always needed some redevelopment since the Pepper Tree had its problems in the 1980’s”, says resident Elvin Lindholm, “its time for this end of town to be brought back up again.”
The drive-thru Starbucks on North Broadway will have as its neighbor Blaze Pizza, one of the fastest growing fast food chains on the Central Coast and in the United States.
“I’m excited about the prospects of the new businesses up the street”, says Elaine Twitchell who has worked at the Best Western Big America hotel on North Broadway for years, “new restaurants, Starbucks has come in next door, a lot of good traffic, it gives people reason to pull off the 101 and come this way instead of going straight down to Main Street.”
Blaze Pizza has a store in San Luis Obispo with others planned or opening in Lompoc, Isla Vista and Santa Barbara.
Construction is expected to begin soon on Hilton’s Hampton Inn going in on North Broadway at a location closest to Highway 101.
Other projects along North Broadway in Santa Maria are planned in the future due mainly to its proximity to Highway 101.
