Arlington West by Candlelight
Veterans for Peace used candles to make Arlington West shine on its final night in 2013.
The group will decide when to bring the exhibit back during a meeting in the spring.
Organizers said Sunday’s display marked the 10th anniversary of their effort to show the cost of war.
Founder Stephen Sherrill said he never intended the crosses to signify the religion of those lost, just the loss of life. Sherrill said it was a form of free speech and therefore allowed on the beach.
Volunteers helped take the display down around 7 p.m.
