New Engine to Combat Wildfires
Santa Barbara City Fire unveiled its newest engine.
This type 3 engine is the second of its kind in the city’s fleet and will call Station 7 its home. Fire crews said it will allow them to better address wildfires.
The problem with other engine types is that they are often too big and make it difficult to get through smaller roads in the Santa Barbara foothills.
This engine will also allow crews to respond out of the area throughout California as part of a statewide response.
