San Marcos is ready for turnaround season in football
Compared to last year, San Marcos High School head football coach Anthony Linebaugh says it is night and day.
In his firstseason with the Royals last year, Linebaugh built the foundation for the program. San Marcos finished the season with its third straight 1-9 campaign.
But there is plenty of optimism this year as the Royals return some talented players such as senior quarterback Wes Ghan-Gibson, running back Esteban Alfaro, running back and defensive back Cameron Whitney, and wide receiver and safety Austin Pugh.
With their experience and some new players, the Royals are determined to turnaround the program. They open the year on the road on August 30 against Cabrillo High School.
