Stabbing suspect arrested by mounted sheriff
Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown dismounted his horse to arrest a man moments before he hit the parade route Friday.
Just after 12 p.m. an argument broke out at Pershing Park on the 100 block of Castillo Street in Santa Barbara.
The argument escalated to a fight and another man was stabbed. Brown just happened to be on his horse waiting nearby.
He and other deputies dismounted to attempt to break up the fight. Brown then arrested stabbing suspect, 36-year-old Isaiah Jones.
Santa Barbara police said the victim’s injuries appear to be minor. Brown got back on his horse and joined the parade.
The cause of the stabbing is under investigation.
