Montecito Fire serves up pancakes and supports a fallen hero

More than a thousand people attended this year’s annual pancake breakfast put on by the Montecito Fire District. Kids of all ages had a chance to meet their local firemen and take pictures on the fire truck.

For the community it was the perfect opportunity to come together and jump start their 4th of July holiday. The event helps raise money for the district’s charitable fund, but this year all proceeds are going to the family of one of the fallen firefighters in Arizona. Twenty-six year old Sean Misner was one of the 19 “hot shot” crew members who died in the Yarnell fire. Sean has ties to Montecito. His grandfather was the former fire chief, and his uncle is the current operations chief at the Montecito Fire District.

NewsChannel 3 Reporter Shirin Rajaee was at the event and has highlights.
