Pioneer Valley High School students collect socks for foster and adopted children
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Pioneer Valley High School Resource Family Student Support Team hosted the Pioneer Valley Sock Drive this past weekend.
The club members collected more than 350 pairs of socks and brought them to the Foster/Adopt Christmas Extravaganza.
The Christmas Extravaganza is an event designed for foster and adopted children throughout the San Luis Obispo County. The event was held at the Grace Bible Church in Arroyo Grande.
The students also volunteered at the Santa's workshop where children were able to choose one toy from Santa's collection including scooters, fishing poles, games and more.
“It was such an awesome experience to see the children excited and enjoying the gifts,’’ said club advisor Trina Leornas. “Our club members loved the experience as well.”
Each registered child received a stocking from Mr. and Mrs. Claus as well.
