Santa Barbara Co. Food Bank hosting Drive-Thru food drive
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The annual "Fill the Food Bank" food drive is coming up on Saturday, but the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County is doing things a little different this year.
The Food Bank is hosting a "Drive-Thru" food drive, meaning people can just drive up, drop off donations, and drive off.
Organizers say they really need items like nut butters, canned tuna, pastas, and tomato sauce.
"This is our first drive-thru food drive, and it is taking place in place of the letter carrier drive, so if you want to bring the food that you had originally wanted to give to your letter carrier, then bring it to the Food Bank this Saturday," said Kaitlyn Haberlin, of the Santa Barbara County Food Bank.
The goal is to collect 40,000 pounds of food.
The Drive-Thru food drive is taking place Saturday, November 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Food Bank's warehouse, located at 4554 Hollister Avenue.
