Frigid mornings and milder afternoons on tap for Tuesday and Wednesday

Temperatures will be especially frigid Tuesday morning. There is a frost advisory until 8:00 am on the Central Coast, Lake Casitas, and in the Ojai Valley with temperatures near freezing. There is also a freeze watch in effect for Tuesday night to Wednesday morning with temperatures below freezing.

High temperatures will warm a few degrees Tuesday. The interior will reach the upper 50s and coastal areas will reach up to the low or even mid 60s. Windier areas will be on the warmer end of the spectrum.

The morning will be breezy with east to northeasterly winds and offshore flow. Skies will clear out for plenty of sunshine.

There is a wind advisory until 6:00 pm Tuesday for Ventura County. Gusts will be 40 to 50 mph.

After a frosty morning Wednesday, high temperatures will increase slightly as high pressure builds further into the West Coast. Offshore flow will keep skies mostly sunny.

By Thursday, our ridge starts to depart to the east and a trough approaches from the west. Upper-level clouds will increase gradually.

The trough continues advancing down the coast before petering out on Friday, and skies will be cloudier. There is a slight chance of rain showers in our northernmost areas, but chances are diminishing.

A cool to mild weather pattern continues over the weekend with high temperatures still in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Saturday will be the nicer day of the two.
