Shower chances linger Monday, then we will see clearer skies and warmer conditions temporarily through midweek

Temperatures Monday are below normal once again. The first day of the week will sit in the mid to upper 50s, struggling to even reach 60 degrees.

By sunrise, the upper low will move southward to just off of Point Conception. By the evening, the low will weaken as it moves over Northern Baja. There is a lingering slight chance of showers with wraparound moisture.

There is a winter weather advisory for both the Santa Barbara and Ventura County mountains until 3:00 pm Monday. There may be additional light snowfall, up to 2 or 3 inches, above 3,000 feet. Special attention should be paid to Highway 33 and the Grapevine.

Tuesday will be much milder as temperatures rise a few degrees. Breezy northeast winds will pick up in the morning. Skies will clear nicely for a sunny day.

Wednesday may start out frosty with chilly lows, but high temperatures may rise slightly more as high pressure builds into the West Coast. Weak offshore flow will keep conditions bright.

On Thursday, our ridge will shift to the east, and a slew of high-level clouds will start to come into the region. Friday will stay cloudy as a trough approaches the West Coast. With the trough, there is a very slight chance of rain showers.

Saturday and Sunday will stay cool as a second system approaches by the late weekend or early next week.
