A much cooler weekend will follow our picture perfect Friday

Temperatures are slightly cooler Friday, and the region is sitting pretty close to normal for a very nice day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s for coastal areas and low to mid 60s for the interior.

A ridge of high pressure is nudging into California from the northwest, but offshore flow is decreasing. The morning may be a little breezy, but not as windy as Thursday.

Temperatures will cool several degrees Saturday as offshore flow flips onshore and an upper low is starting to leave Idaho. Clouds will increase at the mid-level, and the marine layer may return to the Central Coast as well.

The marine layer will deepen Sunday morning with a chance of drizzle. The day will be mostly cloudy and cool with another decrease in temperature, putting most areas below 60 degrees.

Sunday into Monday, there is a slight chance of rain showers, standing at 20 to 40 percent. Any rain will be light and minimal, only amounting to a quarter inch or less.

Skies will gradually clear Monday evening but temperatures may cool yet further. Tuesday and Wednesday will be brighter with weak offshore flow, and temperatures will be a few degrees below normal.
