Bundle up for a chilly Wednesday, with below normal temperatures all week

High temperatures Wednesday may increase a tad, but will stay several degrees below normal. The interior will be in the 50s and coastal areas in the upper 50s to low 60s.

The morning will be very cold. A frost advisory is in place for the Santa Barbara County inland Central Coast and Southeast Ventura County valleys. A freeze warning is in place for Lake Casitas, the Ojai Valley, and Central Ventura Valleys. Both alerts expire at 9:00 am.

A weak ridge of high pressure sits over the region and offshore flow is lightly coming from the north. The morning will start clearer, but later more mid-level clouds will start to move in.

A high surf advisory will stay in place for the Central and Ventura Coasts until 10:00 pm Wednesday. High surf will be 8 to 12 feet and 6 to 8 feet respectively. A coastal flood advisory remains in place for all beaches for the same time period. Be mindful of beach erosion and stay away from bluffs.

Overnight, an inside slider upper low will send a weak front down our coast. We may see a couple of sprinkles with rainfall totals likely unmeasurable. Clouds will increase Thursday, mainly north of Point Conception, and temperatures may drop a degree or two.

High pressure builds back into the Great Basin Friday and there is an offshore push. Northeasterly winds will be breezy.

An upper low will sit in the Four Corners, bending our upper-level flow to the northeast. On Saturday, Santa Ana winds will increase in speed, but likely stay below advisory levels. Temperatures overall will warm, especially in wind-prone areas.

Temperatures will stay mild and slightly below average through early next week. Skies will be mostly sunny.
