Sunny and slightly warmer Thursday, rain returns Friday

A break from the rain arrived Wednesday, but cool and cloudy conditions lingered over much of the region. By Thursday morning, plenty of sunshine is expected and temperatures will temporarily warm up due to more offshore flow. There are changes ahead this weekend.

A chance of rain returns Friday and temperatures will rapidly cool down to accompany the approaching system. The system ahead will be weaker than the storm from earlier this week. Scattered showers are expected Friday, the most rain is expected Saturday afternoon, and the chance of rain will linger into early next week.

Even though we are between systems now, high surf is still a concern. A High Surf Advisory remains in effect until 10pm on Friday for the beaches of San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County. It is best to avoid the beaches at this time due to the increased risk of drowning and dangerous rip currents.

A break from the rain arrives Tuesday of next week.
