Saturday Evening Forecast Jan 7th

Staying dry today as our next storm system lurks just offshore. Look for most cloudy skies and showers developing overnight for all areas. Overnight lows will be in the 40's and 50's. Showers on Sunday could, at times, be moderate to heavy. However, the duration of the showers should be quick enough that we avoid any serious flood concerns. With that said, some minor ponding or roadway flooding will be a concern. Winds will be gusty from the south and temperatures on Sunday will likely be in the 50's to right around 60-degrees. Rain totals will likely range from about a third of an inch to one inch with some higher totals possible for foothills and mountains.

Looking ahead, another and more stronger pulse of moisture is expected by Monday night and in to Tuesday. This is the storm we are more focused on as it has more energy potential. For now, there are no watches or warning yet posted, but that could change as we get closer to the event. With all of the Pacific storminess, high surf will be on tap for virtually all of next week. For now, a High Surf Advisory is in effect through Tuesday, but will likely come back later in the week. Showers will possible through mid week with a slight break on Wednesday. But, as we head through Thursday the chance for more showers comes back in to play with more widespread showers likely for next Friday and Saturday!
