Saturday Evening Forecast Dec 31’st

A very busy last day of 2022 as a powerful storm rolls through the region. Moderate to heavy rain will ease up as we head through the evening which is good news for revelers hoping to avoid a party washout. Be careful as the roads will stay pretty wet and there will still be a few lingering stray showers. Wind issues will keep us on our toes advisories posted and it will be chilly as we head in to New Year's Day. Areal or wide area Flash Flood Advisories are expected to expire by midnight.. Rain totals through very early New Year's should range from about an inch to two inches. However, south facing foothills and mountains could easily see more than that. Temperatures on New Years Day will be chilly with highs in the 50's and 60's. Blustery southerly winds today will turn northwesterly and slowly decrease in to Sunday.

Looking ahead, the storm door is wide open and more rain is on the way. New Year's Day again looks dry with just a stray shower possible. The next wave of moisture moves on shore from north to south on Monday, Scattered showers linger in to Tuesday. By Wednesday, look for more rain and south wind with possibly very heavy showers at times. The chance for showers could linger in to next weekend.
