King Tides and above average temperatures
Even though temperatures temporarily cooled down on Thursday, the warming trend continues Friday and into the holiday weekend. Above average, and potentially record-breaking high temperatures are expected on Christmas Day. Highs on Friday will primarily be in the 60s and 70s. The warmest day of the week will be Sunday.
Beach Hazards Statements have been issued by the National Weather Service due to King Tides, which are the highest tides of the year. This will be in effect from Friday morning until Saturday afternoon for Central Coast, South Coast, and Ventura County beaches. There is an increased risk of drowning and flooding, thus it is best to avoid the area for the time being.
Following the warm weather this weekend, a rapid cooldown is on deck, along with a chance of rain that begins on Tuesday.
