A cool and dry Thursday followed by chances of rain through the weekend

Temperatures Thursday will be chilly in the morning - mostly in the 30s to 40s. Highs will stay 5 to 10 degrees below normal in the mid 50s to just over 60 degrees.

There is a freeze warning in the Ojai Valley until 9:00 am. Temperatures may be as low as 30 degrees.

There may be some patchy fog in inland San Luis Obispo County and the Santa Ynez Valley. Skies will clear very nicely with a lot of sunshine and just a few mid-level clouds.

There is a slight chance of spotty showers on the Central Coast overnight into early Friday morning as a weak trough moves down the coast. Any rain totals will be a tenth of an inch or less. Conditions will clear to partly cloudy during the day.

By Friday night, the upper low in the eastern Pacific Ocean off of Canada will drop southward. It brings a very likely chance of rain Saturday and Sunday. The front will pass through Ventura and LA Counties by Sunday.

We are estimating a half inch to 1 inch of rain for coasts and valleys, and 1 to 3 inches of rain for foothills and mountains. Snow levels will stay above 6,500 feet until dropping Sunday night.

Conditions will by drier and cool early next week.
