Monday marks a warm first week of October

Temperatures are warming up by around 3 to 6 degrees for coastal areas, and up to 10 degrees in the interior Monday. The coast will be in the 70s to low 80s. Inland will be in the 80s.

High pressure is building across the state. Offshore trends are limiting the marine layer so that most areas will actually be off to a clear start. Sundowner winds will hit the Southwest Coast.

Tuesday will be almost a carbon copy of Monday's conditions, but temperatures could warm further. On Wednesday, a bump in onshore flow will bring slight cooling to the coast.

With the ridge still strong over the state Thursday and Friday, temperatures will continue to stay several degrees above average. Over the weekend, a strong upper low will form over northern Mexico, and bring cooler temperatures by Sunday.
