Monday morning forecast May 9th

Temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees below average Monday. The entire region will be in the 60s.

West-northwest flow is taking over in the wake of a trough. Winds are easing in the morning, but will return to the Southwest Coast and western Santa Ynez Range tonight. A wind advisory will go into effect in the area from 3:00 pm Monday to 3:00 am Tuesday with gusts up to 50 mph.

An upper level low will start pushing from the Pacific Northwest into Northern California Tuesday. Some mid and high level clouds will move into our region and winds will be weaker. Temperatures will stay cool.

The low will move down the center of the state and a dry trough through Southern California Wednesday. Conditions will be windy at times and the overnight hours will be chilly.

Thursday is the transition day as the trough departs and a ridge develops to the west. The ridge will move into California Friday. Temperatures will warm by a few degrees each day from Thursday through the weekend.
