Friday morning forecast May 6th

Temperatures Friday are warming slightly where the marine layer is clearing faster. The Central Coast will be in the upper 60s to low 70s, South Coast in the 70s, and inland in the 80s.

Onshore flow will keep the morning somewhat gray in coastal areas. However, upper-level clouds have disrupted the marine layer formation, so fog will be less dense and more patch-like.

There is a beach hazards statement out for the Central Coast and Ventura coast from 9:00 am Friday to Sunday evening. Surf will be elevated and rip currents may be dangerous.

Gusty northwest to north winds will hit Santa Barbara County in the afternoon again. There is a wind advisory in place for the Southwest Coast and west Santa Ynez range from 4:00 pm Friday to 9:00 am Saturday with gusts over 40 mph.

On Saturday, temperatures will change very little and the afternoon will be gusty again. Come Mother's Day though, everyone will start a more significant cooldown with an upper low moving in the Pacific Northwest.

Temperatures will drop below average Monday and Tuesday with cloudier skies and gusty winds at times. There will be a slight warmup midweek.
