Wednesday morning forecast October 13th

Temperatures are warming slightly, putting the coast in the upper 60s to 70s and interior in the 70s. A frost advisory is in effect in the San Luis Obispo County interior valleys until 9:00 am with temperatures reaching as low as 33 degrees.

Winds are calmer through the day around the Alisal Fire on the South Coast, but a trough brushing against the region in the evening will bring more gusty winds, putting another wind advisory into effect from 3:00 pm Wednesday to 3:00 am Thursday on the South Coast and in the Santa Barbara County mountains. An air quality watch is in effect for Santa Barbara County with hazy conditions.

A ridge of high pressure is starting to build from the southwest. Flow is moving offshore.

Temperatures will keep warming through the end off the week as flow continues offshore Thursday and the ridge fills in over California. Santa Ana winds are expected to pick up late Thursday into Friday morning. Relative humidity is expected to drop, elevating fire risk with a fire weather watch in effect for Friday in Ventura County.

By Sunday, onshore flow will return, bringing the marine layer with it. Temperatures will cool back down as a trough sweeps through.
