Wednesday evening forecast – June 9

Weakening onshore flow will bring a gradual warming trend through next week. Gusty northerly winds are expected across southern Santa Barbara County through Friday, especially during the nighttime hours. A hot and summer-like weather pattern will establish over the area next week.

Big weather story is the winds.  Windy weather is expected through Friday.  Wind Advisory in place for the Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains until 9AM Thursday and for the Ventura County mountains from midnight until 10AM Thursday.  The gusty offshore flow will keep skies mostly clear.

High pressure building over the desert will result in a gradual warming trend.  Temperatures on Thursday will be warmer with highs for the south coast in the 70s, Central Coast in the upper 60s, and inland spots in the 80s.

The high pressure will continue to warm with warm temperatures for the weekend and a heat wave next week with highs well above normal by the middle of next week in the upper 70s to 80s for most coastal spots.  Interior spots will pop into the upper 90s to triple digits.
