Monday morning forecast May 31st

Temperatures are increasing again across the region Monday, with interior areas seeing the most warming. Coasts will be in the upper 60s to 70s and the interior in the upper 70s to low 90s.

High pressure is starting to build into California, though a shallow marine layer persists. Mid-level moisture and instability bring the possibility of dry thunderstorms to the Ventura and Santa Barbara County mountains in the afternoon.

Interior areas will be very dry with the combination of heat and little cloud cover. There will also be gusty southwesterly winds at times.

Temperatures will not change much through the work week as the ridge sticks over the region. It will start weakening into the weekend with temperatures gradually dropping to near normal again by Sunday.
