Windy and cooler start to weekend

Wind advisory for Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains until midnight.  Wind advisory for Central Coast and Ventura County coastal cities until 9PM Friday.  Temperatures will be cooler Saturday with locally gusty winds and a slight chance of mountain showers and thunderstorms.  The strongest winds will be over the Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains.  Afternoon temperatures will warm Sunday and Monday then cool through the week.

Besides the winds the other big story is the instability in the mountains as the area of low pressure tracks through. It is bringing light showers and snow to some mountain locations. There is also a very slim chance of a thunderstorm.

The upper level low will slowly move out of the area and we will see more cloud cover for the Central Coast Saturday morning and cooler temperatures for all local cities. High temperatures will fall below normal in the mid 50s to low 70s.

Sunday high pressure to the south will push northward and warm us back up. We will also see the winds become calmer on Sunday. The warming trend continues until Monday with temperatures getting above average in the mid 60s to mid 70s at the coast and 80s inland.

Tuesday the ridge flattens out and temperatures begin to drop with cooler temperatures.
