Monday morning forecast May 17th

Temperatures Monday are warming slightly on the coast and quite a bit inland. Coasts will still be in the 60s to low 70s, and interior areas in the 70s.

The upper low is moving to the east, but the forecast area will be in between the low and a developing weak ridge off the coast. Most temperatures will remain slightly below normal with a deep marine layer.

The ridge sets in on Tuesday. Lighter onshore flow will continue, but the marine layer will clear much faster. Temperatures will be much warmer, reaching slightly above average. Gusty winds will hit the South Coast in the evening.

Another trough will cool the region slightly on Wednesday as an upper low digs into the Pacific Northwest. Temperatures will continue cooling through the end of the work week as the low moves over California before spinning back into the Great Basin Friday.
