Friday morning forecast May 14th
Temperatures Friday are cooling by a couple of degrees on the coast and by several degrees inland. Coastal areas will be in the 60s and interior areas in the 70s.
A trough is moving down the West Coast and heights are falling, causing the cool down. With a deep marine layer, there is a slight chance of morning drizzle.
Saturday will be fairly dreary. An upper low is moving down California. There's another slight chance of drizzle, mainly in foothill and mountain areas, as the core moves over the region. The best chance of drizzle is Sunday morning when the low is closest.
Temperatures Saturday will stay a few degrees below normal, and then improve a tad on the Central Coast on Sunday as the upper low departs and heights rise.
The entire region will continue warming gradually and slowly through midweek as onshore flow decreases, the marine layer thins, and a ridge edges in. By Thursday, another trough will move over the region, starting another cooling trend.
