Saturday Evening Forecast May 8th

Beautiful May weather as the onshore flow holds steady across much of the West Coast. Look for patchy fog and light winds south of Point Conception as we head in to early Sunday or Mother's Day. For areas to the north and west of Point Conception, fog is less likely as a slight offshore or northeasterly wind knocks the marine layer back out in to the ocean. Overnight lows will be mostly in 50's. Highs on Mother's Day should top out in the 60's and 70's with a few 80's inland.
Looking ahead, May is typically the season for marine layer fog and this May seems to be no exception. A series of late season storms will continue to move onshore and across the Pacific Northwest bringing some much needed precipitation to that region. We are way too far south for any rain chances, but the onshore flow will be reinforced and that means if you liked today's weather , you'll likely enjoy tomorrow's. Late night and early morning coastal fog clearing by the afternoon, light to moderate northerly winds and seasonal temperatures. We will see varying amounts of fog from day to day, but overall no significant changes are seen at this time. The fog could get thick enough in some areas and produce some spotty drizzle as we expect the marine layer to increase a bit by next weekend. This will also likely bring down temperatures a bit as well.
