Weekend starting cloudy, ending with showers
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The coast stayed mostly cloudy on Friday while inland areas got more sunshine. Temperatures warmed marginally in most areas compared to Thursday as a weak high pressure ridge builds. Tonight clouds will fill in again, with lows dipping into the low 40s inland and upper 40s near the ocean. Winds will be light in most areas.
On Saturday we could see temperatures warm slightly again but the coast will once more see plenty of clouds and slow clearing, if any. Inland areas will again get better clearing. Highs will range from the low to mid-60s for the Central and South Coasts.
Overnight into early Sunday morning, a weak rain system is expected to move through and bring showers to our area, with San Luis Obispo County seeing the first raindrops. However, the storm seems to sputter out quickly, leaving behind meager rainfall totals. Our current model expects less than a quarter inch for the Central and South Coasts, with totals under a tenth of an inch likely south of Pt. Conception.
