Cloudy and cool end to the week

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After another cool and gray day on Thursday, we'll see peeks of sky and sunshine tonight with mostly overcast conditions returning to the coast after sunset. Lows tonight will reach the upper 40s to near 50 along the coast and drop into the mid-40s inland.

On Friday we expect the marine layer to dominate the morning once again, with a slight chance for light drizzle before somewhat better clearing as a weak high pressure ridge builds. Temperatures may warm a tad but will stay on the cool side, with highs in the low to mid-60s for most spots.

On Saturday temperatures may warm marginally again with clouds still a forecast fixture. It still looks to be the best day to get outside because a rain system moves through on Sunday, bringing a chance for morning showers in San Luis Obispo County. Some rain is likely for the rest of the Central and South Coast by Sunday night. Rainfall totals look to be minimal, however, with current models expecting less than a quarter inch up and down the coast.
