Sunday evening forecast – October 11th

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Upper level high pressure is moving over the West Coast, bringing warmer and drier weather to our area with weak offshore flow and mostly clear skies. Daytime highs warmed across the Central Coast on Sunday, bringing much of San Luis Obispo County and the Santa Ynez Valley into the mid to upper-80s. Tonight we'll see widespread lows in the mid-50s.

On Monday, the warming trend will accelerate, with highs jumping into the low to mid-90s across much of Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County and all areas feeling warmer above average. Winds will pick up as well across the Central Coast. Skies will stay mostly sunny for the next several days.

The heat will stick around through this week--keeping high temperatures in the 90s for most areas until slight cooling arrives on Thursday or Friday. Combined with gustier winds, we may see increased or critical fire danger this week.
