Monday evening forecast June 1st

Partly to mostly sunny skies could be expected along the Central and South Coast through Wednesday. With less cloud cover for the second half of the week. Temperatures will warm each day across the coasts and valleys with peak heat expected on Wednesday. A cool down will begin on Thursday as onshore flow strengthens. This will allow the marine layer to return prompting low clouds and fog to areas south of Point Conception.

A ridge of high pressure to the east of California will shift slightly west producing a warm air mass. Due to this activity along with weaker onshore flow, daytime highs will warm significantly on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday daytime highs along the coast and valleys will warm in the upper 70s to 80s. As the heat peaks on Wednesday, daytime highs along the coast will warm to the 80s, with inland areas reaching 90s to 100s.

The weather pattern will shift with cooler conditions ahead. As the onshore flow strengthens a cooling trend will initiate through the weekend. This will allow for some inland relief along with more cloud cover. The marine layer will return from night to morning with more coastal clouds and fog for areas south of Point Conception. Slow clearing is likely for Thursday and Friday with the possibility for stubborn marine layer clouds through the afternoon.
