Thursday evening forecast May 14th

Gradual warming expected through Saturday with modest ridging aloft and gusty northerly flow. Winds will be strongest tonight into Friday. Night and morning clouds expected over interior and coastal areas. A weak front will bring cooler conditions and chances of light rain Sunday night into Tuesday, with best chances north of Santa Barbara.

The big weather story on Thursday is the gusty north winds.  A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Santa Barbara south coast, mountains and Ventura County mountains until 10AM on Friday.

Temperatures will stay warm and well above average.  Highs along the Santa Barbara south coast are near 80 while along the central coast they are enjoying temperatures near 70.

The jetstream will stay over California on Friday, leading to more afternoon wind after a marine layer morning start. We'll have fewer clouds early on Saturday followed by increasing clouds and weaker wind.  Temperatures will stay comfortable during this time and above average.

We can expect more clouds and cooler weather Sunday. There will be a slight chance for showers Monday, but wind is more likely for most areas next Monday through Wednesday.
