Thursday evening forecast – Jan. 9th

Thursday as expected we saw some light showers in our area.  Almost all of our local cities saw a little precipitation, everything from trace amounts to about 0.10". After the storm exited right around midday we say sunshine return but increasing winds.

Overnight gusty northerly winds will continue.  A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Santa Barbara South Coast and Santa Barbara and Ventura counties mountains until 3AM Friday.

Dry weather will then prevail through the weekend with gusty northerly winds again Saturday night into Sunday and then off and on through Wednesday.  Temperatures will remain near normal through the period.

A couple weather systems will pass close to the area early to middle next week but most of the ensemble solutions support the dry deterministic solutions and just a continuation of the gusty at times northerly winds and slightly below normal temperatures.

Ensemble solutions do start to lean wetter towards the end of next week, especially north of Point Conception, but vary quite a bit in strength and timing. Looks like a good chance of rain by next Thursday or Friday but probably not a significant amount.
